Tarso Machado publishes article on FICPI’s portal
Our partner Tarso Machado published an article on the FICPI – International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys’s website, addressing the recent modification in the patent examination process by BPTO, which established that, starting from 2024, the distribution and technical examination of patent applications will be ordered based on the actual submission date of the application.
Regarding the new procedure, Tarso points out that “although requesting examination earlier may have positive impacts on the examination time for the application, applicants should still be mindful regarding the limitations for amendments after the examination is requested in Brazil”.
In addition to being part of the Study & Work Committee on Software, High-Tech, and Computer Related Issues at FICPI, Tarso Machado was the winner of the Under 40s Contest, a competition promoted by the same institution, which elected him as a standout professional in Intellectual Property under 40 years old.
