The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office launch a Public Consultation on a Proposal for dealing with the Patent Applications’ backlog

This Resolution will cover all applications filed in Brazil up to the date of its publication, excluding patent applications claiming pharmaceutical products or processes, divisional applications an certificates of addition.
 
After due requirements and formal conditions have been observed, the patent application still awaiting examination and not having been object of the presentation of subsidies will be allowed in 90 days. Opting out of this simplified allowance procedure will be possible.
 
Suggestions and comments can be presented until August 21st 2017, through this form, addressed to consulta.backlog@inpi.gov.br
