Kasznar Leonardos goes to Mercado Livre Anti-Counterfeiting Day

Last Friday, our attorneys at law Raquel Corrêa Barros and Ana Luiza Gradela Reggiani, attended the Anti-Counterfeiting Day event, organized by Mercado Livre for the second consecutive year. The event stands out in the anti-piracy landscape due to the quality of the discussions presented in its panels.

The first panel, “Power in Partnership: Strategies for Collaboration in Intellectual Property Enforcement,” featured Dr. Richard Gantus Encinas (GAECO-SP), Jéssica Yukarai Hayashi Silva (IP Key La – EUIPO), Daniel Moferrari (Diageo), and Ygor Valério (IP House), and discussed European Union practices for Latin America, as well as the importance of public-private and private-private partnerships in combating piracy.

The second panel, “Shaping the Future: Emerging Challenges in Combating Counterfeiting,” included Dr. Wagner Carrasco (1st DIG-DEIC/SP), Fernando Casares (React), Wendel Correia (Syngenta), and Amanda Luz (Adidas), addressing the importance and challenges of using advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to monitor marketplaces.

The event also featured the presence of Federal Deputy Júlio Lopes, leader of the parliamentary front for intellectual property defense and anti-piracy, and was concluded by Renato Jardim, executive director of Ápice, who summarized the main points discussed throughout the day.

It was an enriching meeting, focused on the exchange of knowledge and best practices among the participants.
